Recent weeks have seen an unprecedented influx of refugees and migrants here. According to the Greek Coast Guard, an average of 700 have arrived daily during the last six weeks. Greek authorities are overwhelmed with the number of people and services for the refugees and migrants are almost non-existent. In recent days, Greek authorities have sped up processing of migration documents so that refugees and migrants can leave the island faster. Photo: Daniel Etter for The New York Times
